Wood Products sets up headquarters
in Maple Lake, MN.
Certified
Wood Products, Inc. (CWP) recently moved into their new
building in the Maple Lake Industrial Park . Formerly of
Minnetonka , this company provides forest products that
are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes
and enhances well-managed forests through credible certification
that is environmentally responsible, socially acceptable,
and economically viable.
“What we do,” CWP's
President, Dan Haugen said, “Is take the pain out of sourcing
FSC-certified forest products. We help you do the right
thing, for the forest and for your bottom line.”
CWP deals exclusively
in FSC-certified products, and works with clients to ensure
compatibility with the “certified wood credit” and “locally
harvested and manufactured” credits of the LEED green building
rating system. The company stocks a wide variety of products,
including framing lumber from the Collins Companies, Warm
Springs Forest Products and Tembee, plywood from Roseburg
Forest Products, particleboard, and hardwood lumber and
millwork. Moreover, because projects needs can vary greatly,
CWP makes every effort to source and deliver nearly any
FSC-certified product, no matter how unusual.
“In the forest products
business, it is no longer enough to offer only the highest
quality products, fair prices, and careful service,” said
Haugen. “Being responsible in everything one does, from
the forest to a finished building, must be a vital consideration
in everything that we do, for the sake of the planet. CWP
has risen to this new challenge: our mission is to make
life easy for designers and general contractors who need
cost effective and environmentally responsible forest products.”
Some projects that
CWP has provided forest materials for include the Lebanon
Hills Regional Park Visitor Center in Dakota County , MN
. Haugen was able to demonstrate that character-grade white
birch, harvested from nearby Aitkin County's FSC-certified
forests and manufactured locally, could meet the project's
conservative efforts while, at the same time, be more cost-effective.
CWP also has provided
materials for projects around the country including the
Richard J. Lacks, Sr. Cancer Center in Grand Rapids, MI,
and the Vermont Law School in South Royalton, and the Arthur
Blank Foundation office in Atlanta, GA to name a few.
We are glad that
CWP has decided to make Wright County their national headquarters.
It is a delight to see a company with sound values and responsibility
that is market competitive in every imaginable way, that
is also environmentally positive. To find out more about
CWP visit www.certifiedwoodproducts.net
