Wright
County Partnership announces a
new award category for 2007.
Wright
County – The Wright County Economic Development Partnership
Awards Committee has identified procedures and strategies
to recognize outstanding contributions to the Partnership
and to the economy of Wright County . Members of the Awards
Committee include Gina Bainey of the Bainey Group, Patrick
Day of PJD Business Coaching, Sheila Hanson of Staubach
Company, Noel LaBine of the Partnership, Julie Moorhead
of Edina Realty, Cory Ritter of Schlenner Wenner & Co.,
Jaime Simonsen of North Hennepin Community College, and
Tim Zipoy of CMJTS.
The
members of the committee want to encourage you to nominate
yourself or your neighbor for one or all of these awards.

The
four award categories that the awards committee has identified
for 2007 include the Outstanding Member of the Year Award,
the Outstanding Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year Business
Award, the Outstanding Economic Vitality Business of the
Year Award, and the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award.
More details about each of those four categories are included
below.
Outstanding
Member of the year Award:
The
purpose of the Outstanding
Member of the year Award is to recognize an individual
or company member of the Wright County Economic Development
Partnership for his/her/their outstanding contributions,
leadership and achievements. The nominee must be a member
of the Wright County Economic Development Partnership. Primary
emphasis will be given to business and professional contributions
to the Partnership over the last five years including committee
involvement, event involvement, and leadership.
Outstanding
Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year Business Award:
The
purpose of the Outstanding
Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year Business Award i s
to recognize small business entrepreneurs in Wright County
who demonstrate their ability to take risks, overcome challenges,
and grow their business while making an economic impact
and fostering economic vitality in Wright County. The entrepreneur
does not need to be a member of the Wright County Economic
Development Partnership.
Outstanding
Citizen of the year Award:
The
purpose of the Outstanding
Citizen of the year Award is to recognize an outstanding
citizen in Wright County for their contributions, leadership
and vision, and for their volunteer service to the community
.
NEW
~ Outstanding
Economic Vitality Business of the Year Award:
The
purpose of the Outstanding Economic Vitality Business of
the Year Award is to recognize businesses in Wright County
who have made an economic impact through investments in
innovation, job creation and retention, job training and
retraining, sales growth, profitability and reinvestments.
All nominations must be submitted by
December 3, 2007. The awards will be announced and given
out with ceremony at the Partnership's annual meeting on
January 18, 2008.
The Partnership exists to enhance the business climate of
Wright County and to help create more jobs in Wright County
. The strategies the Partnership uses to achieve its mission
include being an information resource and finding technical
assistance; aiding business development through Business
Retention & Expansion visits, providing financing resources,
and providing business information and training through
seminars and workshops. Also, the Partnership markets Wright
County to business site locators, and maintains an excellent
website, which includes a listing of commercial and industrial
property available in Wright County (see www.wrightpartnership.org
). The Partnership also assists with Workforce Development
and has gathered economic statistical information, which
is available on its website.
