Annandale
Foods hosts tour of their state of the art
Food Proccessing facility in Annandale
Annandale
-- Annandale Foods continues to grow and prosper in Wright
County after winning the 2007 Wright County Economic Development
Partnership's Entrepreneur of the Year Award. A recent visit
with owner, Scott Robertson, and plant manager, Sarah Wilcox
revealed some interesting facts about this company.
They
have recently completed their 10,000 square foot dry storage
area, to aide in their growth with future expansion plans.
Annandale Foods currently employs around 40 people, with
additional local temporary workers when needed. They expect
to double their operation within the upcoming year by adding
additional production lines and putting on additional shifts.
With
additional growth on the horizon, Annandale Foods strives
to keep their employees happy and motivated. The employees
participate in a monthly award recognition program that
empowers them to do their best. Annual parties and employee
incentives help keep up the company spirit. Plans are also
underway to remodel the break areas as part of the next
plant improvement later this year.
Annandale
Foods has been working to create more efficiency within
their operations. Adding custom fit automation and sourcing
from local suppliers has helped to reduce wastes and stimulate
the local economy. With the increased cost of transportation,
they are very interested in any local supplier that can
meet their needs.
Always
mindful of what's good for the community, Annandale Foods
has incorporated an aggressive recycling program into their
daily operations. Every bit of waste from cardboard, to
food scraps, to plastic is recycled. This strategy has actually
decreased their handling costs as well as kept many loads
of waste out of local landfills.
To
continue growing, Annandale Foods has implemented an aggressive
marketing approach that creates new and exciting food choices.
They consistently research and develop new items to bring
to market. They begin new product launches with exceptional
graphics to create attractive visual images that will appeal
to consumers. These products are then sold through many
of the national retail outlets.
