Partnership
holds seminar series luncheon on
Retail Analysis of Wright County.
The Wright
County Economic Development Partnership held a Development
Seminar Series Luncheon on Retail Analysis for Wright County
at the Cinemagic Theater on Wednesday, April 25 th . A buffet
style chicken lunch was provided to about 50 people, who
attended.
The keynote speaker was Jim McComb of the McComb Group.
The topic was, “A Retail Analysis of Wright County”. Jim
McComb included in his analysis geographic maps and data
showing population density, income per household, growth
trends, etc. for three tier groups that he separated Wright
County into . The McComb Group specializes in doing area
analysis and recommending specific retail categories for
areas based on existing and projected demographics and the
location of the nearest competitive retail spaces. They
have been very successful and have a number of repeat customers.
According to Chuck Van Heel, the McComb Group will tell
you whether you have a good site or not, and what is the
best use of the property you do have for specific tenant
types.

Jack Amdal of KKE Architects was delighted to have the opportunity
to sponsor a speaker of the caliber of Jim McComb. To paraphrase
Jack Amdal , “Jim McComb is one of the more reliable experts
in Minnesota on retail site analysis.”
The Wright County Partnership's Development Series Luncheons
are a great place to network with community leaders from
Wright County and get first-hand information about various
development activities. The discussions held at these events
have been very valuable to developers, city representatives,
and others.
Future
events are also being planned for May, June, July, and August.
The Partnership
exists to enhance the business climate of Wright County
and to help create more jobs in Wright County . The strategies
the Partnership uses to achieve its mission include being
an information resource and finding technical assistance;
aiding business development through Business Retention &
Expansion visits, providing financing resources, and providing
business information and training through seminars and workshops.
Also, the Partnership markets Wright County to business
site locators, and maintains an excellent website, which
includes a listing of commercial and industrial property
available in Wright County (see www.wrightpartnership.org
). The Partnership also assists with Workforce Development
and has gathered economic statistical information, which
is available on its website.
