North Hennepin Community College, member of the Partnership

offers Operations Managment Degree.

( Moorhead , MN ) … One of Minnesota 's leading state universities has partnered with North Hennepin Community College to offer a bachelor's degree-granting program in Operations Management (OM).

The 2+2 OM bachelor's degree program from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) is specifically designed for students with a diploma, A.S. or A.A.S. technical-related degree. Upon completion of the diploma, A.A.S. or A.S. degree from a partnering institution, enrolling students can apply their general education credits and technical degree credits toward a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management from MSUM.

Pam McGee, MSUM's Operations Management Program Coordinator, says students may choose to take their third and fourth years of coursework at North Hennepin Community College, on the MSU Moorhead campus, or online. Whichever venue they select, they receive their B.S. degree from MSU Moorhead.

The OM Program combines classroom study with practical experience through required internships and is the only OM program in Minnesota accredited by the National Association of Industrial Technology (N.A.I.T.).

“Our four-year degree gives our graduates management and leadership skills that fully complement their technical degree,” says McGee, “and makes them very competitive in the job market.”

McGee says Operations Management graduates find success in many different industries, including manufacturing, wholesale sales and management, health care, software and technology development, construction, and utilities.

“We also know that the combination of technical skills and management training greatly increases their opportunities for promotion to management and leadership positions,” McGee says.

Minnesota State University Moorhead, located in western Minnesota on the North Dakota-Minnesota border, offers more than 70 majors and nearly 100 areas of concentration.

North Hennepin Community College , located at the intersection of 85th Avenue North and West Broadway in Brooklyn Park , has been a leading provider of higher education in the northwest metropolitan area of the Twin Cities since 1966. The college also offers evening classes in partnership at Buffalo High School . The college offers associate degrees in liberal arts and career programs to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions or for immediate entry into rewarding careers. NHCC currently serves more than 13,000 students with credit and non-credit offerings and is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.
