Wright County holds County wide EDA meeting in Hanover.

The Wright County Economic Development Partnership held a late afternoon gathering for all communities in Wright County at the Hanover City Hall on Wednesday, November 18th. The hors d'oeuvres and beverages were provided by the River Inn Restaurant of Hanover. The event was attended by Economic Development Association (EDA) representatives from Annandale , Buffalo , Clearwater , Cokato, Delano , Hanover , Monticello , Montrose, Rockford , St. Michael, and Waverly.

The attendees were separated from their fellow community EDA attendees and assigned to tables, so they could network and get to know representatives from the other communities in Wright County . They shared information about projects that they have been working on and some possible solutions that have worked. They also talked about ways that they could possibly work together. In general the meeting ended on a positive note with the group agreeing that they would all be stronger, if they could work together. They agreed to convene again to discuss more about possible projects that they could work on together.

Another event will be planned for a late afternoon in February. All that is needed is a host community that would agree to provide food and beverages for these enthusiastic community volunteers.

 

The Partnership exists to enhance the business climate of Wright County and to help create more jobs in Wright County . The strategies the Partnership uses to achieve its mission include being an information resource and finding technical assistance; aiding business development, providing financing resources, and providing business information and training through seminars and workshops. Also, the Partnership markets Wright County to business site locators, and maintains an excellent website, which includes a listing of commercial and industrial property available in Wright County (see www.wrightpartnership.org ). The Partnership also assists with Workforce Development and has gathered economic statistical information, which is available on its website.
