Partnership
holds seminar on
The State of the Economy of Wright County.
The
Wright County Economic Development Partnership held a Development
Seminar Series Luncheon on the State of the Economy for
Wright County at the Albertville City Hall on Thursday,
October 11th . A buffet style chicken lunch was provided
to about 65 people, who attended.
The
keynote speaker was Joe Mahon of the Federal Reserve Bank.
The topic was, “The State of the Economy and Wright County
”. Joe Mahon included in his presentation data showing trends
in the economy . The Federal Reserve Bank for this region
includes the states of Montana , North Dakota , South Dakota
, Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
An analysis of the economy for this area includes those
states also. Joe Mahon is a staff writer and economic analyst
at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis , a position
he has held since 2003. His articles for the fedgazette
and the Region have covered a diverse array
of topics, including energy and farm policy. He also performs
regional economic research on commercial and residential
construction and real estate for the Fed's Beige Book summary
of regional economic conditions.

The
Wright County Partnership's Development Series Luncheons
are a great place to network with community leaders from
Wright County and get first-hand information about various
development activities. The discussions held at these events
have been very valuable to developers, city representatives,
and others.
Future events are
also being planned for November, December, January, and
February.
The
Wright County Economic Development Partnership is pleased
to announce this new industrial park development. “More
locations for industry equates to more opportunities for
business and new job creation in Wright County ,” according
to Director, Noel LaBine.
The
Partnership exists to enhance the business climate of Wright
County and to help create more jobs in Wright County . The
strategies the Partnership uses to achieve its mission include
being an information resource and finding technical assistance;
aiding business development through Business Retention &
Expansion visits, providing financing resources, and providing
business information and training through seminars and workshops.
Also, the Partnership markets Wright County to business
site locators, and maintains an excellent website, which
includes a listing of commercial and industrial property
available in Wright County (see www.wrightpartnership.org
). The Partnership also assists with Workforce Development
and has gathered economic statistical information, which
is available on its website.
