State
of the Economy event held at Albertville City Hall
The
Wright County Economic Development Partnership held a State
of the Economy Presentation at their monthly noon luncheon
event on October 2nd at the Albertville City Hall in Albertville
. Tom Stinson, State Economist, was the presenter.
Tom Stinson gave a captivating presentation on the State
of the Economy using sophisticated data analysis that he
has gathered to analyze the National and Minnesota economy.
He was a confident presenter and an excellent resource to
ask questions about specific aspects of the economy. The
question and answer period lasted for about 30 minutes as
many people had a lot of concern about the current state
of the economy. Among other things, Tom Stinson agreed with
the need for the $700 Billion bailout and other efforts
to keep the banking industry secure. Without a fluid banking
system many companies would have to fold up and many more
people would lose jobs. It is imperative that trust in banking
reoccurs on a national and international scale.
All
Wright County business people and those interested in business
development in Wright County were invited. The Bank of Elk
River graciously agreed to be the sponsor for this event.
The
Partnership exists to enhance the business climate of Wright
County and help create more jobs in Wright County . The
strategies the Partnership uses to achieve its mission include
being an information resource and finding technical assistance;
aiding business development through Business Retention &
Expansion visits, providing financing resources, and providing
business information and training through seminars and workshops.
Also, the Partnership markets Wright County to business
site locators, and maintains an excellent website, which
includes a listing of commercial and industrial property
available in Wright County (see www.wrightpartnership.org
). The Partnership also assists with Workforce Development
and has gathered economic statistical information, which
is available on its website.
