Moser wins coveted award at Partnership Annual Meeting
Allison
Moser was recognized as the Citizen of the Year by the Wright
County Economic Development Partnership at its annual meeting
at the Montrose Community Center on January 16 th . Allison
has been very active in the community helping young people
in a variety of ways and the awards committee felt that
she is an outstanding example of someone, who has single-handedly
done more to protect the vulnerable youth of our county
than any other individual that anyone was aware of.
Allison
has always been involved in areas that interest her. Through
her passion she helps to bring about more awareness. Allison
has been actively involved with the MEADA effort since it
started in 2004. She also helps promote the Safe Schools
program. This is a group of great individuals that meet
once a month at the Buffalo High School to address issues
around safety—driving, internet, drug-related issues, school
safety, etc. She has sat on that committee since 2000. She
is also involved with the Faith in Action group.
Allison
is most passionate about volunteer experiences with PIF
academy. PIF stands for Pay It Forward or Passage Into Faith.
This group helps girls in an age group that are most vulnerable
for taking a road in life that would not be positive to
walk down. They meet for fourteen weeks and talk about grooming,
hygiene, etiquette, decision-making, values, relationships,
fitness, saying “No” to drugs and alcohol, etc. They continue
to meet with these gals even after they finish the program.
